Picture of L&N #295

Road Numbers - Engines in this series were numbered 295, 275, and 277.  These decals are appropriate for 295 and 275.  The numbers on the loco are red with white outline.  The L&N on the tender is red with white outline and the numbers are red with black outline.  The wide band on the skirts and down the side of the tender is aluminum.  The herald under the cab window and on the front of the engine was a cast plaque.  The Champion Decal Company set # EH-261 herald can be used.   Alternately, Northern Scale Models (contact Don Moore at 763-475-0647) made some of the plaques in brass with red background. They really look good.

The 277 had yellow stripes and lettering.

Reference - Louisville and Nashville Steam Engines, by Richard Prince, has photos of these locomotives.

Acknowledgments - Gwynne Burch of McKenzie, AL designed and developed these decals.
